SYMBOLS OF FREEDOM

THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Symbol of Freedom

Many have died and will die for the cause which this flag represents.

Patriotic Americans love their flag, their symbol of freedom.  We should always treat the flag with the utmost respect and care.  God Bless America!  God Save America!

THE CROSS OF CALVARY - WHERE JESUS CHRIST DIED IN OUR STEAD

Symbol of Freedom
If you have accepted Christ as your Savior, the cross is your symbol of freedom.

Our precious LORD died on the cross so that we may have eternal life.

Many Christians have stood strong for the cause which the cross represents, (spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ), and many have even died for the Cause.

May I make one thing clear, we should not worship the cross.  However, we should most certainly cherish it as a symbol of our freedom found by placing our full trust in Christ.  Do not be ashamed of the Cross or the Cause, but rather propagate the Gospel to all people, and stand strong for Jesus, even til death!

The U.S.A. is still the greatest country in the world, and is an honorable cause to die for.  But, the cause of Christ is, by far, the most honorable cause of all to die for.  "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Philippians 1:21

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
 the emblem of suffering and shame;
 and I love that old cross where the dearest and best
 for a world of lost sinners was slain.
Refrain:
 So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
 till my trophies at last I lay down;
 I will cling to the old rugged cross,
 and exchange it some day for a crown.

2. O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
 has a wondrous attraction for me;
 for the dear Lamb of God left his glory above
 to bear it to dark Calvary.

3. In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
 a wondrous beauty I see,
 for 'twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,
 to pardon and sanctify me.

4. To that old rugged cross I will ever be true,
 its shame and reproach gladly bear;
 then he'll call me some day to my home far away,
 where his glory forever I'll share.
